Constance B. Coffin 1947 – 2023 AUBURN – Connie Coffin passed peacefully
from this earth into Heaven at the age of 75 on Wednesday June 21, 2023 surrounded
by her family at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn from a long illness due to
Pulmonary Fibrosis.
She was born in Lewiston on December 14, 1947 to Corry Bonney and E. Shirley (Foss)
Bonney.
She was educated in the West Paris School, graduating from there in June of 1966.
On October 4, 1968 she married Larry Coffin and they established their home in Bryant
Pond, living there for the almost 55 years of their married life, raising their two sons
Scott and Denny.
She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Grammy, great Grammy and
friend to many.
Some of her favorite enjoyments were: first and foremost providing the needs of her
immediate family, knitting and making lots of mittens and slippers for everyone she
loved, making a day of shopping with her sisters, lawn sales, being outside enjoying her
flower beds, browsing through and reading from her many new and old cookbooks. She
loved being with family, especially Sunday dinners at her mother's house. After her
mother passed she started her own Sunday dinner tradition for her family at their Bryant
Pond home.
Her extensive work history began with BE Cole in Norway, Norway Footwear in Norway,
and Stowells Wood Mill in Bryant Pond. After her retirement she and Larry established
and managed a greenhouse business selling flowers and vegetables and enjoying
many return customers yearly.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Coffin, her sons Scott Coffin, Danny Coffin and
his wife Wendy. Four sisters and one brother: Corrine Hammond, Bonita and husband
Carl Witham, Deborah and husband Wayne Holtzman, Marlene and husband Edward
McNally, Kirby and wife Lorraine. Two sister-in-laws Margie and Linda Bonney. Two
aunts Judith Small and Aliene Bonney. Four Grandchildren: Jackie, Ellis, Kylee and
Dylan. Three Great Grandchildren: Emily, Delilah and Colton and many cousins, nieces
and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Corry and Shirley Bonney, brothers Owen and
Corry Junior, Corrine's long time partner Bruce Abbott and many Aunts and Uncles.
The family would like to thank Androscoggin Hospice House for the wonderful care that
was given to Connie.
A public graveside service will be held on Saturday July 8, 2023 at 2 pm at the Pleasant
Pond Cemetery in Sumner and a gathering with refreshments will follow at the
Universalist Church vestry approximately a tenth of a mile from the cemetery.
