Harold Craig Moore II 1971-2024
Craig Moore, 53, of Sumner Maine, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones and the pastor on December 13th, 2024.
Craig was born in Norway Maine in May of 1971 to LolaLee Hemingway and Harold Moore, Craig attended Telstar Regional High School until 1986 then went to Hadley’s Excavation in West Paris, Maine to drive truck at the age of 15. He’s always had a strong passion for driving truck and did it right up until his license was pulled in 2023.
Craig attended 4H in Woodstock as a young boy he’s always had a passion and love for horses which lead him to always be present at the county fairs beside his good friend Wayne Estes. He played baseball in the early 80’s for the town of Woodstock and enjoyed playing basketball as well. Craig served as a part of the West Paris Fire Department in the early 90’s then became the assistant chief in the late 90’s. He started stock car racing at Oxford Plains Speedway in the late 80’s and after taking some time off while he was busy being a new dad, he went back in the late 90’s, he also got his first ever career win in 2005. He raced in 2011 with his daughter Allyson, then again in 2022 with his boys.
Craig was predeceased by his mother LolaLee Dillingham, his father Harold Moore, maternal grandparents Leo and Louise (Blaquiere) Hemmingway, paternal grandparents Lawrence “Pop” and Olive B. Moore, brother Scot Moore and wife Betty. He is survived by his fiancé April Paine and dog Bailey of Sumner, step father Gordon (Yogi) Dillingham and girlfriend Ginny Brown of South Paris, as well as his children Tyler Moore and Wife Brittney of South Paris, daughter Allyson McNulty and Husband Billy of Norway, son Spencer Moore and girlfriend Alivia Berry of Oxford, bonus daughter Kayla Page and Husband Nick of South Paris, his brother Leo Moore, sister Perian Moore and boyfriend Michael Clarke of Bath. He also leaves behind 3 beautiful granddaughters RaeLee, Ava, Rhece and another grandbaby due next summer, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and so many great friends.
We will be holding a convoy parade Sunday, December 29, 2024 starting at Doe’s Variety in South Paris (line up around 9 am) and going to the Woodstock Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Woodstock on Andrews Road where we will hold a service for Craig starting at 12pm noon. Anyone who would like to pay their respects is welcome to join us.
