Obituary for Marilyn Wheeler Estrada
Marilyn Andrews( Wheeler) Estrada passed away peacefully on November 6th, surrounded by her
loving family. Born on December 26, 1929, in Redding, Maine, to John and Louella Palmer Andrews,
Marilyn attended local schools and graduated from West Paris High School. In 1948, she married
Roger W. Wheeler, and together they made their home in West Bethel, where they raised their five
children. After Roger's passing in 1971, Marilyn remained a pillar of strength for her family.
An industrious woman, Marilyn worked for Edmund Smith during strawberry season and later spent
over twenty years at the Kendall Mill until its closure. She then served as a CNA at the Ledgeview
Nursing Home until her retirement. In December 2001, Marilyn married George Estrada and moved to
Fruitland, Florida, where they shared many happy years together before returning to West Paris to be
closer to family. They built a new home on Andrews Brook Road. George passed away in March 2024.
Marilyn was a woman of many interests. An avid reader and bird watcher, she tended her vegetable
and flower gardens and took daily walks, sharing her passions with her children and grandchildren.
Known for her wonderful cooking, her cinnamon rolls and homemade bread will forever linger in our
memories. One of her most cherished experiences was traveling to England to visit her daughter and
son-in-law.
Deeply connected to her extended family, Marilyn served as a touchstone for generations, cherishing
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a long-time member of the South Woodstock
Seventh Day Adventist Church, where her strong faith guided her through life’s challenges and blessed
her with many rewards.
Marilyn’s cheerful spirit, kind and generous heart, and unconditional love for family and friends
will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her brothers Richard,
Howard, John, and Arden Andrews and their wives. Her sisters Annie Louise, Marion Lee, Sylvia
and husband William king and her grandson Ian Wheeler.
Marilyn is survived by her children and their wives and partners : Roger Wheeler and Sandra of
Bethel; Chester Wheeler and Dee Witherell of Northwood, NH; John Wheeler and Deborah Giasson
of Bethel; daughter Judy and Harry Morton of Kentucky; and Tim Wheeler and Stacy of Bethel. She
is also survived by her beloved nieces and nephew, Dennis Wheeler, Sue Wheeler O’Donnell, and
Cindy Wheeler Mills, all of Bethel, with whom she shared a special bond and helped raise, along with
a wealth of descendants, including 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many other nieces,
nephews, and their children.
Services will be held December 15th at 11:00 A.M at the Seventh Day Adventist Church Perkins Valley
Road in South Woodstock.
In loving memory of a life well-lived, Marilyn family extends their gratitude for the community& love
and support during this time.
