Myles Jay Silverman passed away at home in West Paris, ME on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Myles was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, to the late Norman and Gertrude Silverman, on August 10, 1944. He was educated at Lynn schools and later Natick schools.
Weeks before his high school graduation, He joined the Air Force in 1963. He served as a packing specialist at Clarks Airforce Base in the Philippines with TDY’s into Vietnam.
In 1967, he left the service and went to work as a machinist at Microwave Development Labs, Needham Heights, Ma where he worked till his retirement in 2008.
Soon after retirement he and his partner, Jane moved to Las Cruces, NM where they rapidly became a part of the community. They joined the Farmer and Crafters Market in Las works. He really enjoyed meeting new people from around the world and the people at the market quickly became family.
He enjoyed traveling and seeing new places and they would drive back to New England for a couple of months each summer. His favorite place to escape was to The River Bend Hot Springs in Truth or Consequences, NM. They remained there until 2016 when his health began to decline.
They moved to West Paris to help with her mother and found a wonderful health team that gave him eight more wonderful years.
They found another small farmers’ market to join here in Maine, along with doing many art and craft shows over the years. He was always telling people he took his retirement very seriously.
He is survived by his spousal Jane E. Hathaway of West Paris, ME, his son Michael J. Silverman, and wife Diane of Bellingham, MA. His grandson Conner Silverman of Killingly, CT. Sister Susan Dalpe and husband Andy of Plainville, MA, and five nephews.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Silverman and his sister, Marcia Grundon.
There will be a graveside service at Lakeside Cemetery, Bryant Pond, ME on July 13 at 12:30 PM,
