Ronald J. (RJ) Heath, 82 of South Paris, left this world on Thursday, May 30, at the
Hospice House in Auburn after prolonged bad health. Ron was born May 17, 1942, to
James and Edna (Robbins) Heath. He attended schools in Rumford and later graduated
Paris High School class of 1960. He married Dorothy Bean in December of 1961. In his
younger years he worked a Penley’s Mill in West Paris. He later went on to work as a
mechanic at Greeley’s Garage in Auburn. He then started his own garage with friend
Ron Olson in Norway – R & R Auto. Later years running Heath Auto Sales & Service in
South Paris and then Greenwood with son, Alan, and grandson, Aaron. Ron had been
an avid race face since late 1960’s early 1970’s racing at Oxford Plains Speedway with
friends Frank Perham, Boulder Stone, Al Hammond and others. He enjoyed
camping/fishing trips with Wayne Ross. As many folks well tell you had a bit of a wild
side and did not always make the smartest choices – like riding his motorcycle to Trap
Corner in February and breaking his arm. But he loved his family and always tried to
provide us with much more than he had. Ron was predeceased by his parents, an
infant sister, his youngest son, Tobin M. Heath and special cousins Richard Heath and
Sandy Mason. Ron is survived by his ex-wife Dotty Heath, son’s David Heath (Melissa
aka Maris) and Alan Heath, daughter Holly Timberlake (Darin). Grandchildren Lauren
Day, Jessica Heath, Aaron Heath, Lindsey Rosenberg, Amanda Heath, Katlin Heath,
Corey Heath, and Logan Timberlake. Thanks to the folks at the Androscoggin Home
Health and the Hospice House for making him as comfortable as possible these last few
days. At Ron’s request there will be no service.
